Our History
Meredith Park is owned by Susan Woodcock and Michael Everett. We acquired the farm in 2004 to primarily agist our own small band of racehorses and broodmares at the time, seeking to have more involvement with their education and care.
The farm was formerly a cattle property as part of a larger 600 acre property located within 3000 acres of usable state forest.
Everything on farm has been built by current owners from scratch.
Michael has a family background in racing and breeding in WA of both gallopers and harness horses, while Susan grew up riding and educating horses.
A chef by training, but a horse person at her core, Susan studied equine myo therapy in Granby, Connecticut, USA in 1997 and set about finding a way to participate the thoroughbred industry.
Upon returning from working in New York in 1998, Michael and Susan began purchasing a number of racehorses and broodmares.
Michael was a part owner and raced Group 2 winning mare Rare Insight (2002 Stan Fox). This led to the breeding and co-racing of Group 1 winning Danehill Dancer mare Steps In Time (2014 Coolmore Classic). As the major shareholder for breeding, Steps In Time now resides at Meredith Park.
The first horse offered for sale under the Meredith Park banner was Honest Lies in 2008, selling for $130,000. Bred along strong NZ bloodlines that is now a feature of much of Meredith Park’s broodmare band, the horse went on to win $280,000 of prize money with a record of 46 starts, 6-8-3 by the end of his racing career in 2014.
With a band of 20+ farm owned broodmares, Meredith Park has been a consistent vendor at the major yearling sales since 2012.
Susan manages the property and breeding/racing stock while Michael provides gentle advice and direction that is sometimes listened to.
